Below are twenty five (25) Ethics in deliverance ministration that all ministers are to bear in mind before, during and after deliverance ministration.
Ethics 1; Do not disobey any clear cut instructions from the Holy Spirit.
Ethics 2; Do not minister without interviewing the counselee and reaching a spiritual diagnosis. Discover to recover!
Ethics 4; Never minister deliverance when extremely tired or under stress. Eat well, rest well and be physically fit.
Ethics 5; Do not minister deliverance when in emotional distress.
Don’t get involved with your counselee emotionally. Maintain a minister counselee relationship at all times.
Ethics 6; Do not allow your counselee to become over dependent on you.
Ethics 7; Do not allow your counselee to over crowd you. Learn to manage time wisely. Delegate to others.
Ethics 8; Maintain confidentially. Infact, all counselors are to be guided by the oath of secrecy used by all lawyers, doctors, catholic, priests etc.
Ethics 9; Do not charge money before ministering, it is very wrong and unscriptural.
Ethics 10; Never minister alone! If possible, two or more people ministering have a lot of merits.
Ethics 11; Be sure you are free from sin. If you attempt to minister deliverance while living in sin, it will hinder your anointing and expose you to attacks (psalm 66:18).
Ethics 12; Don’t minister alone. Especially with the opposite sex.
Ethics 13; Avoid ministering inside your room. Guard your life and that of your family seriously, do not minister inside your personal residence.
Ethics 14; Be careful on who join you in the ministration.
Ethics 15; Don’t just jump into ministration without proper diagnose and counseling. Thus don’t rush into ministration without celerity. No man is a champion.
Ethics 16; Do not minister in private homes (except to unconscious or bedridden counselee, family ministration and some rear cases). Many houses has been dedicated to Satan and his forces.
Ethics 17; Do not lay your hands suddenly on your counselee’s head except you are led to do so by the Holy Ghost. Don’t lay your hand on every head you encounter. Ensure you neutralize that part of the counselee by prayer before laying hands.
Ethics 18; Don’t allow church members/workers who salvation and purity is questionable to join the deliverance team.
Ethics 19; Deliverance ministration is never to be conducted in the name of any human but that of Jesus Christ.
Ethics 20; A minister should undertake conscious actions to minimize the very real damagers of becoming emotionally involved with a counselee becoming in appropriately emotionally attached.
Ethics 21; Maintain the boundary of physical distance and avoid body language or eye contacts which go beyond the boundaries of propriety.
Ethics 22; Do not probe for intimate details of the counselee’s life just to satisfy your curiosity.
Ethics 23; Counsel in a public open place. Always explain your spiritual diagnosis to your counselee before starting the ministration.
Ethics 24; Treat your counselee with respect, courtesy, love and compassion. Remember that they are also joint heir with you in Gods kingdom.
Ethics 25; Ministration should be centered on fasting and praying not flogging or being locked in a room.
